A Portuguese pomace spirit distilled exclusively from Dona Paterna’s Alvarinho grape skins and residue. The grape behind the producer’s wines provides the raw material for a different category.
Traditional distillation creates a bagaceira from Monção e Melgaço. Unlike the house XO, this is distilled from grape pomace rather than wine.
Our suggestion: Serve in a small tulip-shaped glass and try it neat first, before comparing it with an aged spirit.
