Dona Paterna XO is a wine brandy made from Alvarinho. Unlike a bagaceira, it is distilled from wine before ageing in oak casks of different origins.
The blend has an average age of 15 years. The producer describes a topaz colour, complex oak aromas and a soft, structured, unctuous palate.
Our suggestion: Serve neat in a small tulip-shaped glass. For a comparative tasting, try it alongside the same producer’s Bagaceira Velhíssima.
